Record harvest for land-based salmon farmer
Land-based fish farmer Salmon Evolution had a record harvest volume and strong price achievement in the second quarter of 2024, it said in a market update today.
Highlights of Q2 were:
- Harvest volume of 1,581 tonnes (head on gutted).
- All-in price achievement of NOK 106/kg.
- Still high superior share of 96%.
- Standing biomass of 2,032 tonnes at the end of the quarter.
Salmon Evolution, which has a capacity of around 8,000 tonnes HOG in phase 1 of its facility at Indre Haroy, Norway, expects a harvest volume in circa 1,600 tonnes HOG in the current quarter.
"The second quarter represents an important milestone for Salmon Evolution with harvest volume at record high levels in a record strong salmon market. We are very pleased to see a continued excellent share of superior quality of 96%, resulting in solid price achievement and further demonstrating the potential of our business," said Salmon Evolution chief executive Trond HÃ¥kon Schaug-Pettersen.
