Announcing the fifth edition of Patagonic RAS 2024

The conference, organized by BioMar, will feature thematic sessions on production and system management, nutrition for optimal fish and system performance, and health and welfare in RAS.

Patagonic RAS is the most relevant biennial international conference in Latin America on aquaculture in recirculation systems (RAS), bringing together leading organizations, experts from around the world, and key industry players for a full day of talks and networking.

In the face of political, climatic, and social changes occurring globally, RAS technology continues to lead the expansion of the aquaculture industry worldwide, whether for fry breeding, post-smolt production, or the complete cultivation cycle up to harvest.

Maximizing the potential of aquaculture in recirculation systems requires integrating know-how with technological, physiological, genetic, and nutritional advancements. Once again, with Patagonic RAS 2024, BioMar will seek to foster the exchange of knowledge and collaboration to together build the recirculation aquaculture system of the future.

As reported through a press release, the event will take place on November 19 at the Teatro de Lago in Frutillar and will feature three thematic sessions: production and system management, specific nutrition for optimal performance of the fish and the system, and finally health and welfare in RAS.

The session on production and system management will address the specific knowledge and high degree of know-how necessary for production in RAS. In this session, experiences and realities of RAS producers from different regions will be shared, as well as future data-based strategies for optimal production and system management.

In turn, the session on Specific Nutrition for optimal performance of the fish and the system will focus on the latest innovations and scientific advances in terms of nutrition, with the goal of achieving optimal performance of the fish and the system, while minimizing the environmental impact. Finally, the session on health and welfare in RAS will explore the complex interaction between fish, the system, and production management to ensure the growth, health, and welfare of the fish.

Patagonic RAS 2024 is a unique opportunity to establish connections, exchange knowledge, and discover new business opportunities in an inspiring and collaborative environment. Registrations will be available soon through the BioMar website.
