Atlantic Sapphire harvested 1,150 tonnes of salmon in Q1

Published
Atlantic Sapphire harvested three times the volume of fish in Q1 as it did in the previous quarter.

Florida land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire harvested approximately 1,150 tonnes (head on gutted) in the first quarter of 2024, while the net biomass gain for the same period was approximately 1,200 tonnes, it said in a market update.

In comparison, the company harvested approximately 310 tonnes HOG in Q4 2023, and net biomass growth was approximately 1,100 tonnes.

Standing biomass as of December 31, 2023, was estimated to be just over 3,000 tonnes live weight.

Operational update

Phase 1 of Atlantic Sapphire’s “Bluehouse” recirculating aquaculture system facility in Miami-Dade County has the capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes of Atlantic salmon annually but a series of setbacks has prevented the company from achieving that level to date.

The Q1 2024 operational update for Atlantic Sapphire and the integrated annual and ESG report for 2023 will be published on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at approximately 15:30 BST. The company is inviting investors and analysts to a webcast at 16:00 BST on the same day, during which the operational update will be presented by management, followed by a Q&A session.

A similar invitation after Q4 ended without a question round, and only a pre-recorded video was presented.
