Atlantic Sapphire doubled Q1 harvest volume this year
Florida farmer produced 1,319 tonnes HOG with average weight of 3.1 kg
United States land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire harvested approximately 1,319 tonnes (head on, gutted) of fish in the first quarter of 2025 – almost double the 670 tonnes HOG harvested in the same period last year.
Additionally, approximately 154 tonnes of small fish were culled, completing the planned culling measures to adapt the standing biomass to the current feeding and biofilter capacity at the Florida recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility, Atlantic Sapphire said in a trading update.
In Q1 2025, the net biomass gain was approximately 1,449 tonnes live weight (Q4 2024: 1,150t). Standing biomass at the end of the period was 2,997 tonnes live weight (Q4 2024: 3,180t).
Stable conditions
During the fourth quarter, biological development progressed favourably with stable water quality and temperatures, low mortalities, and increased harvest weight following the operational measures taken to increase harvest size.
Realised average harvest weight in Q1 2025 was 3.1 kg HOG (Q4 2024: 2.4 kg). The realised sales price for fresh salmon sales in the quarter was US $8.3 per kg HOG (Q4 2024: $7.9 per kg).
Atlantic Sapphire’s integrated annual and ESG (environmental, social and governance) report for 2024 will be published on April 23, 2025.
